Boise VA Launches Fall Flu Shot Clinics
Boise VA Medical Center has announced its schedule for flu shots this fall for enrolled Veterans. Starting mid-September, Veterans can receive their flu shot during their regular VA health appointments or at one of the designated clinics.
At the Boise VA Main Campus, there will be a drive-thru flu shot event at Flagpole Loop from October 1st to October 4th, operating from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. New Saturday hours are available during this period. Additionally, walk-up tents are set up at the Main Entrance and Building 114 Behavioral Health from September 29th to October 10th, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Evening walk-in clinics will take place at Building 88 – Orange Team from October 6th to October 9th, Monday through Thursday, between 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Tips for getting the flu shot include bringing a VA ID card, wearing clothing that allows easy access to the shoulder, and noting that those aged 65 and older will receive a high dose vaccine.
Flu shot services are also available at additional outpatient clinics. In Mountain Home, drive-thru and walk-up services will be provided on October 3rd from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. In Caldwell, a drive-thru event is scheduled from October 6th to October 10th, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Twin Falls will host a drive-thru event on October 10th from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Services will also be available at John Day Elks Lodge.
Veterans in the Boise, Idaho area are encouraged to take advantage of these clinics to stay healthy throughout the flu season.
