Boise VA Launches Fall Flu Vaccination Campaign

The Boise VA Medical Center in Boise, Idaho, has announced that flu shots will soon be available for enrolled Veterans. The flu season campaign begins in mid-September with vaccinations offered at various VA locations, including the Boise VA Main Campus, primary care clinics, and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).

At the Boise VA Main Campus, flu shots will be available through several methods. A drive-thru service at Flagpole Loop will be open from October 1st to October 4th between 8:30 AM and 12:00 PM, with new Saturday hours introduced. In addition, walk-up tents at the main entrance and Building 114 Behavioral Health will offer vaccinations from September 29th to October 10th, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Evening clinic walk-ins will also be available at Building 88 – Orange Team from October 6th to October 9th, Monday through Thursday between 4:30 PM and 7:30 PM.

Veterans are reminded to bring their VA ID card and to wear clothing that allows easy access to the shoulder for the administration of the vaccine. Those aged 65 and older will receive a high-dose vaccine.

The outpatient clinics will also offer flu shot services. At the Mountain Home clinic, flu shots are available via drive-thru and walk-up on October 3rd from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The Caldwell clinic will provide drive-thru vaccinations from October 6th to October 10th between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Information for Twin Falls is also provided, with a drive-thru service starting on October 10th from 8:00 AM.

Veterans can receive their flu shot at any of these designated clinics or during regularly scheduled VA health appointments.
