First Responders Celebrate Saved Patient’s Full Recovery

On December 16, 2024, Scott experienced a cardiac arrest. Deputies from the Ada County Sheriff's Office initiated CPR and used an AED to shock Scott twice. Engine 1 firefighters and Ada County Paramedics Medic 13 continued the life-saving efforts. Scott regained a pulse and was transported to a local hospital. Several days later, he was discharged and has now made a full recovery.

This morning, Firehouse 1 welcomed Scott back, marking a rare event for first responders to meet a patient they helped save. Boise Fire recognized Phil Desilet, David Ashton, Luke Miller, and Kyle Caldwell with ACCESS Lifesaving Awards for their exceptional efforts.
