Heat Advisory Issued as 90s Predicted This Week
The local National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory as temperatures are expected to hit the 90s across lower elevations this week. Saturday, May 31, is predicted to be the hottest day of the year so far, with some locations potentially reaching up to 97°F. Specific forecasted high temperatures include Baker City at 92°F, Boise at 97°F, Burns at 91°F, Caldwell at 97°F, Idaho City at 92°F, Jerome at 94°F, McCall at 83°F, and Mountain Home at 97°F.
Officials advise residents to drink plenty of water, limit their exposure to the sun, and wear a wide-brimmed hat along with light clothing to reduce the risk of heat exhaustion and dehydration. The advisory was issued at 1 pm MDT on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, and is valid through 6 pm MDT Saturday.
