Idaho Forecast Warns of Early July Heat Wave
The U.S. National Weather Service in Boise, Idaho, has issued a forecast stating that temperatures will be 20 to 25 degrees above normal for this time of year. The forecast, which was issued at 8:50 AM MDT on May 28, 2023, indicates weather conditions similar to those typically seen in late July.
The forecast details the probability of temperatures reaching 100 degrees Fahrenheit or greater between 12:00 PM on Saturday and 12:00 AM MDT on Sunday across various locations in Idaho. For example, the probability is 0% in John Day, Cambridge, Stanley, White Pine, Jackpot, and Cascade. Other probabilities include 3% in Baker and McCall, 7% in Burns and Burley, 8% in Crowley, 10% in Fields and Council, and 12% in both Gooding and Deadwood. Higher probabilities are noted in Riggins at 57%, Grand View at 69%, Murphy at 65%, Boise at 59%, Emmett at 78%, Caldwell at 79%, and Ontario at 44%. Additional probabilities include 2% in Frenchglen and Jordan Valley, 1% in Challis, Atlanta, and Carey, 2% in Falls City, 24% in Mountain Home, 36% in Juntura, 47% in Weiser, and 12% in Twin Falls. Other mentioned probabilities are 3% in Baker, 7% in Burns, and 0% for a number of other areas.
The forecast advises residents to stay cool and hydrated during the hotter conditions.
