Boise Ties 100°F Record, Wind Advisory Active
Boise, Idaho tied an all-time May high of 100°F at 4:15 p.m. today, a record that has only been reached once in the past 150 years of available data, according to the US National Weather Service in Boise.
A cold front is expected to move through the area this evening, primarily affecting the I-84 corridor. The front will bring strong winds and is expected to cause areas of blowing dust and hazy skies.
A wind advisory remains in effect for the Lower Treasure Valley. Current forecast models show wind gusts reaching up to 50 mph in some areas. Specific wind gusts include 46 mph at Weiser and Ontario, 35 mph at Murphy, and 32 mph at Caldwell. Other locations such as Baker and Mountain Home are forecasted to experience wind gusts in the high twenties to low thirties range.
The National Weather Service issued the forecast details in Boise at 4:05 p.m. MDT earlier today, with model depictions indicating various wind gust intensities across the region.
