Idaho Police Launch #UnsendChallenge Against Sextortion

Boise Police in Boise, Idaho reported an incident involving K9 Aira and mentioned the #UnsendChallenge on social media. The challenge is part of an effort to bring awareness to sextortion, a crime in which a victim is asked for a photo and then threatened with its public release unless money is sent. The campaign highlights the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s "Take It Down" tool, which assists in removing harmful content from the internet.

Law enforcement agencies, including the Caldwell Police Department, Garden City Police Department in Idaho, Idaho State Police, and the Idaho ICAC Task Force (Internet Crimes Against Children), are involved in spreading awareness and providing resources. More information about the initiative, as well as how to remove harmful online content, is available through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Idaho ICAC Task Force websites.
