Idaho Students Empowered Through Youth in Government

**Youth in Government Program Empowers Idaho Students**
The Youth in Government program, a national initiative under the YMCA, provides students in grades 7-12 across Idaho with a hands-on opportunity to explore how government operates. This teen model government program enables participants to engage in activities that include debating, lobbying, passing bills, and discussing court cases. The program also offers students the chance to meet elected officials and gain practical insight into state government processes.
Throughout Idaho, groups meet at various schools, as well as at the Downtown Boise YMCA and the Caldwell YMCA, to foster engagement and leadership skills. The program is open to young individuals aged 12-18. Interested families can learn more by contacting **communityprograms@ymcatvidaho.org**.
This initiative aims to prepare the next generation of leaders by offering an immersive educational experience in policymaking and governance.
